Are you seeking psychotherapy for an eating disorder? Tree of Life Clinic provide people from all over London with the expert support they need.
We all want to eat as healthily as possible. But for some people this turns into an obsession and ends up dominating their life, stopping them enjoying even the occasional treat. In this end this leads to a reduction in their well-being.
Sufferers of orthorexia are those that systematically avoid certain foods, usually because they believe them to be extremely harmful.
This condition was originally defined in 1997 and the symptoms include obsessive behaviour in pursuit of a healthy diet.
What are the symptoms of orthorexia?
Signs include obsessions with food choices and health concerns, high levels of distress when certain foods aren’t available, cutting out of numbers of food groups, an inability to eat anything but a narrow group of foods, and spending hours a day obsessing over whether certain foods will be available at an event.
Based in London, Tree of Life regularly deliver counselling for people suffering from eating disorders, with all psychotherapy tailored to meet your unique needs. We have a number of multi-lingual therapists for those whose first language isn’t English.
